Next Letter - GIMEL
 ב = BEIT - 'House'

The second letter in the Hebrew aleph bet is beit which has a numerical value of 2 and pictorial representation of a floor plan of a tent or house. The Hebrew word beit  means tent, house, dwelling or temple.   Bethlehem in Israel in Hebrew is beit lechem and means 'house of bread'.

The sound that beit makes is a B sound like in boy. When a beit is the first letter of a word it makes a B sound but when the last letter of a word it makes a V sound. Sometimes it has a dot in the middle of the letter and this will make a B sound.  When aleph is combined with beit to give the word אב pronounced as av. Pictorially this gives 'the strength (aleph) of the house(beit)' is the Father! Think of a tent with the central tent pole that holds the whole tent up as representing the 'father'.

The entire word of G-d starts with the letter Beit - In the Beginning 'bereshit' (Genesis 1:1) and in most Torah scrolls and bibles you will find that the letter is larger than the rest The letter Beit represents the two worlds heaven and earth. Ben Yah - Son of G-d connects the two worlds.

"Little Sparks" by Rose
Connecting the dots of the Hebrew Alphabet

"IT STARTS AT HOME" ...
As for me and my house!

In “Little Sparks” within the article for the Hebrew letter Gimel, we read a little about Peter’s life and his restoration by Yeshua in “Understanding G’milut Chasidim.”

What has been on my heart recently, however, is the denial of Yeshua the Christ. And here is the trail that I find myself following ...

How do we find ourselves denying Yeshua?

In some ways, it might be too easy for us to look at Kefa [Peter] as an obvious example … we may even compare ourselves to him and tell ourselves, perhaps with a little pride …   “I have not denied Him … I have never declared with such boldness that I don’t know Him or that I am not with Him.” But … look a little closer … is that the whole truth? Are we willing for G-D to examine our own hearts? Even more, are we prepared to ask Him with all sincerity, even cry out with desperation, for Him to “show me my heart!!” ?
You see, we can so often read about Peter [Kefa] and almost pat ourselves on the back that we have never denied our L-RD in the way Kefa did. Reading the story in front of us, Kefa’s denial seems blatantly obvious doesn’t it?  But what about our own story and the way we are actually walking?  What about the ways not-so-obvious that lye within our everyday lives with those around us?  And what about those with whom we actually walk the closest? It is there we often find the greatest challenges. Remember, Kefa was one of the very first disciples called to walk with Yeshua; was he not one of the closest? Does Yeshua not ask Kefa, “do you love me more than these?”  [John 21:15].

Can we truly say that we have never denied Him? Have we never misrepresented Him for Who He really is through the way we have behaved toward others? And what about the way He is misrepresented in so much of Christianity? Have we not denied knowing Him as we have stripped away the Jewish identity of our Messiah?

So … where am I going with this, L-RD?  Where do we begin? I hear a song whisper in my spirit ... “Let’s start at the very beginning …”  Of course … B’reshit which is Genesis!  It is indeed a very fine place to start! ; )

As we read above about the Hebrew letter “Beit,” we find that it points to the floor plan of a tent or a house. And tying it together with walking alongside those who are closest to us ... I think what is suddenly coming to my heart is this ...

“Does this walk not begin ‘at home’ with those who are closest to us” … those with whom we can often become so familiar that we can actually lose sight of the ways we take them for granted, overlook them, put them last … even mistreat them without realising.  What do you think? I am inclined to believe that how we walk within our own family … how we treat each other within the four walls of our own home when no one else is looking … it can actually help or hinder those things we have become passionate about achieving in the vision the L-RD has put within our hearts. I suddenly look to see Moshe [Moses] …

We read in Exodus 2:11-14 about Moshe killing the Egyptian. Again … let us look a little closer. In verse 11, I look to see as if Moshe suddenly feels connected to his brethren ... perhaps even in a way he had not previously known. The vision - perhaps a new revelation - would eventually bring Moshe to a place where he would stand in the gap and cry “FREEDOM!” for G-D’s people! That they would be released from the land of slavery and oppression; that they would serve the One True Living G-D while journeying together in the wilderness toward the Promised Land.  BUT let us first look at what happens in verse 12 of chapter 2: “And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he smote the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand.”  You see, Moshe did something in the place of “perceived secrecy” that would in fact come to hinder the reconciliation of his brethren “in plain and open sight” … just the very next day. When he tried to confront his brethren who were fighting, they more or less mocked him for they had known about what he had done the previous day. What happened in the secret place of Moshe’s heart caused him to run … BUT … as we already know, HaShem had a plan!

I would like to ask … even for us to consider … “where have we caused harm to others in the ‘secret places’ where we perceived there was no man to see.” Perhaps it has been through gossip? back-biting? jealousy? false accusations? harsh and unjust treatment? While it may be true that these things often manifest out of the wounded areas of our lives, or perhaps the ways in which we have been conditioned or trained to behave … NEVERTHELESS, it is so important we come to the place of taking responsibility for our own behaviour and actions while seeking reconciliation with G-D’s merciful help.  Another thing that might be good for us to remember is … “while there may be no man to see our behaviour behind the closed doors of our hearts and lives, there is One who never sleeps, never slumbers … One whose name is El Roi - the G-D who sees! What we do in the secret places before the G-D of Israel can make all the difference to how we are received in the open spaces of our lives before men [Matthew 5:16]! Our behaviour can either undermine the vision and the work HaShem longs to do through us, or it can uphold that work through the integrity of our hearts … beginning from the inside out!

Are we not meant to reflect who G-D is through our behaviour toward one another. And does that not include those closest to us … even those within our very own home? It is too easy for us at times to treat those closest to us with contempt, especially if there are unresolved issues lying dormant within our own hearts. If there is unforgiveness, bitterness, old hurts and festered wounds, generational iniquities, ungodly residue from relationships where ties of the enemy seek to keep us bound… these are just a few “Keys of the Kingdom” [Matthew 16:19] that can help unlock the door to the prison that often lies within our own hearts … setting us free to find great potential for us to become ALL G-D created us to be … so that we can do ALL that He has for us to do in His Kingdom … ALL for His glory and for His name’s sake! That we would be fully equipped and armed for the days to come with all its darkness … that we would find ourselves STANDING!!! Ephesians 6:10-20

So what about Kefa [Peter] … let us consider what it is that Yeshua says to him after asking Kefa three times about his love for Him? In John 21:18 we read, “Amen, amen I tell you, when you were younger, you used to dress yourself and walk wherever you wanted; but when you grow old, you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and carry you where you do not want to go.”

Are we willing to go wherever He calls us to go? To lay down our lives for the sake of the sheep as our Good Shepherd did? To be obedient to the call of G-D even when it goes against everything we have ever known ... Against our very nature and natural instinct? Even when it seems a "lonely" and scary place that He is calling us to? Are we willing to stand up and be counted even when those around us are saying to us, “Really? Are you really with Him?” My heart cries …

PLEASE ABBA ... PLEASE MAKE US READY … PREPARE YOUR BRIDE FOR THE RETURN OF HER BRIDEGROOM! THAT WE WOULD BE FOUND STANDING FAITHFULLY RIGHT BY HIS SIDE … NO MATTER WHAT!! NO MATTER THE COST!!! NO EXCUSES … NO REGRETS … BUT TO HEAR HIS TENDER VOICE WHISPER …

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

This is my desire … oh L-RD … this is my desire …

Final thought:  So often it is our ACTionS that speak louder than our words ... G-D sees and He hears our hearts cry ... the question is ... "WHAT ARE WE PREPARED TO DO ... "

"But you will receive power when the Ruach HaKodesh [Holy Spirit] comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
